Fremont Debate Academy (FDA), a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, will be running its annual Hirsch Elementary Debate program for the 8th consecutive year for 4th - 6th graders. It will be led by debaters from Irvington Debate, and will put an emphasis on the Middle School Public Debate format.

Students will learn various structured forms of argumentation, and research techniques. Through practice sessions, drills, and mini-competitions, students’ public speaking skills will be vastly improved. The final goal will be to give students a head-start into the highly selective FDA Debate program for students attending Horner. At the end of the school year, there will be a FDA international tournament! We will be splitting up students into a Novice and Advanced section. The Advanced offering will specifically be geared towards students who have participated in a Fremont Debate Academy program before.

FDA Hirsch Debate sessions will be held on Thursdays from 5:15pm to 6:45pm. There will be 8 classes for this program. The start date for the sessions will be March 14th in the Multi-Purpose Room. Our last session will be on May 9th. April 4th will be excluded due to Spring break. Note: Parents are responsible for picking their children up promptly at 6:45 pm right after the session.
