FDA x Maloney

Register for FDA Maloney’s 2nd annual free debate program here (in partnership with the PTA)! Register by March 10th! The program will be hosted at the Centerville Community Center.

DISCLAIMER: Because of limited bandwidth, we will be capping this year’s program at ~24-30 4th-6th grade students. Students will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. All students beyond capacity will be put on a waitlist. This program is designed for 4th and 5th graders but 6th graders who were former FDA Maloney students last year can participate!

This year, we’re running an 8-week-long competitive debate program for Maloney students focusing on the Middle School Public Debate Format at the Centerville Community Center. Students will learn various structured forms of argumentation, and research techniques. Through practice sessions, drills, and mini-competitions, students’ public speaking skills will be vastly improved. At the end of the school year, there will be an FDA international tournament! It will be led by American and Washington High School students Avni Tewari & Anish Polakala. At the end of the school year, there will be a FDA international tournament!

The full list of dates are: 3/14, 3/21, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 (Thursdays) from 6:15 - 7:45 PM at the Centerville Community Center.
