Fremont Debate Academy x Centerville Civics
Register for FDA Centerville Civics by February 11th!
This year, Fremont Debate Academy (FDA), a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, is running a free 8 week long civics program focusing on how the American legal system works at Centerville Junior High. Students will learn about the U.S government, current politics, economics and civic responsibility. Through practice sessions, drills, and a mini social service project, students’ public speaking and research skills will be vastly improved. Through FDA x Civics’s past programs students have worked to make a better impact on their community by collecting 450+ pounds of food, generating around $400 in funding for nonprofits, and picking up over 3 gallons of trash to keep parks clean!
FDA Civics Centerville sessions will be held in a hybrid manner, with alternating Wednesdays of in-person and online sessions. The in-person sessions will take place at the Centerville Community Center from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. The online sessions will be held on Zoom, from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. There will be 8 classes for this program. The start date for the sessions will be February 15th at Centerville Community Center. Our last session will be on March 31st. Information about the last session will be sent when the date nears.
