DISCLAIMER: Because of limited bandwidth, we will be capping this year’s program at ~30 4th-6th students. Students will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. All 4th graders will be put on a waitlist.

This year, Fremont Debate Academy (FDA), a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, is running an 8 week long competitive debate program focusing on the Middle School Public Debate Format at Brookvale Elementary School. Students will learn various structured forms of argumentation, and research techniques. Through practice sessions, drills, and mini-competitions, students’ public speaking skills will be vastly improved. It will be led by 6th grade teacher Mrs. Dillon and AHS Captains Agastya Gaur and Jessica Kim. At the end of the school year, there will be a FDA international tournament!

FDA Brookvale Debate sessions will be held on Tuesdays in the MPR from 3:15pm to 4:45pm. There will be 8 classes for this program. The start date for the sessions will be October 25rd in person at Brookvale Elementary. Our last session will be on December 20th. November 22nd will be excluded due to Thanksgiving break. Priority will be given to 5th and 6th graders, and 4th graders will be put on a waitlist.
